Xerox Versant 280 Review: Pros, Cons, Cost

Submitted by Nolan Fowler on

The Xerox Versant 280 is a mid-production press built for workgroups that need an efficient machine that can be tailored to meet their production printing needs.

However, as we will discuss later on, the Versant 280 will not be a fit for most traditional workgroups.

Because it is a production press, it will be an expensive purchase—which means you need to make sure it is the perfect fit for your workplace before buying.

As a printer/copier company for almost 40 years, we know how important office printing equipment is in the workplace, and to get the right machine in place, you need access to the right information.

There are so many printers/copiers on the market that it can feel overwhelming to even begin researching what’s out there.

It’s not easy to narrow down which model is right for you; this is especially the case when you don’t know which brand of machine you want.

Too many times, consumers decide to buy whichever machine they can easily find rather than purchasing the one that can safely handle how much they print. And this usually leads to increased service issues and mass frustration at the office machine that, in an ideal world, should be the least of your worries.

The Xerox VersaLink C8000, a color printer, is one of the biggest print-only machines Xerox has in its catalog.

If you’re needing a color printer to print at a high monthly volume, it could be a good fit for you.

However, without upgrades or other services, the VersaLink C8000 costs almost $3,000, which means you need to know for certain that it is the right machine for you before purchasing.

How do you decide that, though?
